Guess who's back...
I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder--as my lack of posting has really ignited a controversy similar to Tom Cruise vs. South Park.
Last night while my roommate, bf and I are watching TV, I came to the realization that I lived a musically sheltered life. Here are some things I didn't know:
1) Marvin Gaye's father shot and killed him
2) Jerry Lee Lewis married a 14 year old girl named Myra
3) Milli Vanilli's fake star Pilatus killed himself because he sucked.
4) 11 people died in a stampede at Riverfront Coliseum before a Who concert
On top of not knowing all of these things, when I was younger my Dad wouldn't let me listen to Tom Petty's Last Dance with Mary Jane because it referred to toking the reefer. Little did he know that I didn't actually know that and I thought it was just the name of the dead girl he was dancing with in the video. Thanks for the tip, Dad.
Anyway, my new knowledge had immediate results because last night during the Sopranos Pauley Walnuts said, "Junior Marvin Gayed his own nephew", and I knew what he meant!!
ps- I will not discuss the aforementioned Tom Cruise v. South Park story because I really hate him and for the sake of my mental well-being TC is from now on "he who shall not be named"

To make matters worse, Myra was Jerry Lee Lewis' cousin, and she was 13.
My parents didn't allow Matt to own Guns 'N Roses "Appetite for Destruction" because there was a cartoon of a woman with her breast exposed on the album's inside cover. They wanted to protect his innocence.
As you can see, that approach did not work out very well.
my parents had no idea that when i was at arab kids' camp when i was 9, my cabin memorized the words to "i want your sex" AND came up with a dance routine.
